Episode 1030: Confrontation
Gawain hesitates, and some of the younger, newer knights look uncomfortable, unsure of what to do. They keep their swords available, however.
Lancelot, exile though he may be, is well remembered throughout the kingdom, and his un-defeat-ability was unprecedented. Until, that is, the accident.
You had been riding your steed, searching for adventure, when from behind, Merlin's chief nemesis, Nilrem, had nearly killed you with a magical blast, then fabricated a double who tried to depose Arthur. Much as it pained the kingdom, Arthur had had to banish you, and you had lived in the cave ever since you awoke. And now, your past was haunting you again.
"Dare you return, usurper?" Gawain finally found his voice.
"I did not try to usurp Arthur," you return.
"Then who did? Your twin brother?"
"I don't know, but I have been living in that cave," you point to the cave, "for years. Ask anyone around here."
"I don't need to."
Gawain lunged forward with his sword, intending to drive it into your chest.
