Using Children's Miniature for Role-Playing Games
For a long time, my kids had been a little too young to get into the pencil and paper role-playing games. But recently, they turned 8 and 6 years old. They learned how to read, write, and do arithmatic.
So when my son wanted Minion miniatures, I figured it is the perfect time to get them to practice their new found skills... with old fashion D&D like games.
Kids mind are already very creative. But their imagination skills can be toned wiyh vatious figurines. They already have Lego pirate, mermaid, skeleton, Minecraft figures. They also have My Little Pony, Sick Bricks, Shopkins, and many others. These figures are, surprisingly, similarly in scale to traditional RPG miniatures.
For example, My Little Pony can serve as the miniature for horses. Skeleton Lego figures can be skeleton monsters. And instead of playing a basic human kids, your children can play a Minion character.
It would be fun to run a small game using these children miniatures. I am going running the simple "Mystical Dungeon" story with my kids and their miniatures and see where it goes.
